Our Story

I’m Michael Wyatt, a pediatrician in Gainesville, Florida, but years ago, I began dreaming of hosting a supper club in our home to share my passion for cooking.

While watching an episode of “Chef’s Table” I was inspired by Chef Asma Khan who was a lawyer in England. She learned to cook as an adult from her family in India. She began a supper club in her home which eventually led to her Michelin star restaurant, Darjeeling Express. I continued to research boutique in-home dining and discovered a wonderful world that I didn’t know existed. This was something I had to try! I remember asking some close friends if they thought the idea was crazy. They may have been surprised and a bit confused, but they were also very encouraging. And so, Wandering Branch supper club began.

In 2020, we began regularly hosting guests in our home for dinner events. Then in 2024, we began to host our dining experiences in other homes and private venues with much success. In 2025, we will continue to provide our unique dining experience for guests in homes and event spaces throughout the Gainesville community.

The name Wandering Branch is a reference to our wandering to places and discovering the food and drink we share with our guests. Branch is a reflection of Jesus’s teaching in John 15 about the vine, the branches, and the gardener.

I am married to Stephanie and we have seven children.

Our youngest son, Landry, and I bonded over our mutual love for cooking. He is now a graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and is a chef in St Augustine, Florida. He joins me in the kitchen for Wandering Branch as often as possible.

Stephanie plays an important role in each event with decorating, place settings, serving, and hospitality. Her experience helps make each event radiate the warmth and welcome of our home.

The Wandering Branch experience is an invitation from our family to yours.
